I believe in integrative medicine because I believe the body made of the physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual. These all have en effect on each and every part. For example, the physical state of the body and nutrition may have an effect on the psychological and vice versa. An example of this is that stress has been related to an increased risk of heart disease or stomach ulcers. Another example is poor nutrition may lead to depression or other mental disorders.
In order for us to understand the body and the disease processes and what we might do to prevent diseases, it is important to look at the various parts of the body, the psychological, emotional and spiritual and be able to integrate them as a whole.
